It’s not  new and as I think strange idea – to travel from Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel: you need to cover too big distance from town to town and then back.  I think that Bretagne deserves a special look on. But, if you still want to, here is the review of possible ways of travelling there.

Bus

Let’s start with the bus trip – most perfect way of travelling across country. A company FlixBus can suggest a bus trip Paris – Saint-Malo, with the stops at Caen and Mont-Saint-Michel. When the selling starts you are able to get a ticket for lower than a usual price, but don’t worry if the opportunity is missed – the ordinary price is only up to 20 euros per ticket.

Bus & Train

  • You can also travel from Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel by the train to this cities:
  • TGV departs From Montparnasse trainstation to Renn/ Dol de Bretagne
  • From Saint-Lasar trainstation to Caen/
  • From Montparnasse trainstation to Foligno (train to Granville).

Since the 1st of August 2016 you can get to Mont-Saint-Michel from Paris using the trainstation Paris-Montparnasse Granville direction (stops at Dre, Verney-sur-Avre, Aigle, Surdon, Argentan, Bruz, Fleur-de-l’Orne, Vir or Wildier-le-Paul). This train travels only one passage a day, from Monday to Sunday; on the website you can buy a ticket, which provides a ride on the bus, train + abbey entrance + an accomodation there. The journey’s price is 35 euros in one direction (2nd class), children aged 4-12 y get 50 percent off the price.
