The bridge leads to the Golden Rider – a monument to King Augustus II. A gilded equestrian statue in Caesar’s robes is visible from afar.

A walk in Neustadt will most likely not be included in the route for 1 day. But if there are plans to stay in Dresden, then you must definitely see

  • Kunsthofpassage. Open-air cafes, art studios, boutiques and an unusual facade with downspouts. Five courtyards are united by a common idea. There is Courtyard of the Elements, Court of the mythical creatures, Courtyard of light, Courtyard of the Metamorphoses, Animal yard.

Brühl’s Terrace, Balcony of Europe – these are the names of the Elbe embankment between the Augustus Bridge and the Carola Bridge. From Augustus Bridge, climb the stairs past the sculptures of The Four Times of Day and walk to Albertinum.

Another Dresden art museum – The Albertinum – is located on Brühl’s Terrace. It is the New Masters Gallery and the Sculpture Collection.

In Dresden, you can admire not only the masterpieces of the Baroque. There is also an example of modern architecture – the Tobacco factory Yenidze. Now there is a shopping center, and a restaurant right under the dome of the mosque.

Three small castles in the Dresden Elbe Valley are a great opportunity to walk in the parks, take pictures of beautiful scenery and see architecture, unusual for Dresden:

  • Albrechtsberg Castle (Neoclassical architecture)
  • Lingner Castle (Classical architecture)
  • Eckberg Castle (Neogothic architecture).
