How to get to Vannes

Vannes is located on the northern shore of the Gulf of Morbihan, at the mouth of the Marle River. If you are planning a trip to Lower Brittany, Vannes is a must-see city. Local attractions make it a direct competitor to its closest neighbors: Quimper, Brest and Concarneau to the west and Nantes to the east.

Vannes is conveniently located on the Quimper-Lorient-Vannes-Nantes railway line. Moving around Lower Brittany, it will be difficult to ignore this city.

By train

There are direct TER trains from Quimper and Nantes. On the road from Quimper to Vannes, you only spend 1 hour and 20 euros. From Nantes to Vannes – 1,5-2 hours.

From Rennes to Vannes, you can take a direct train for an hour and the same 20 euros.

By bus

Bus will take you from Nantes to Quimper in 1.5 hours and a mere penny (less than 10 euros).

Bus will take you from Quimper to Vannes in 2 hours, tickets from 5 euros.
