The highest building in the world and the most popular sightseing in Dubai is Burj Khalifa. From this article you’ll learn how to get to the very top of the tower, without waiting for the queue to shorten, and how not to screw up the impression from visiting it.

What you should learn about Burj Khalifa before the trip

Working hours: 8p.m. – 12p.m.

Tower hight is 828 meters. It was named after the president of  United Arab Emirates Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who has helped with donations during the building process. The tower was designed by architect Edrian Smith, who was inspired with Spiral mosque (Samarra) and Lake-Point-Tower (Chikago).

There are 57 elevators and 8 escalators serving 163-floor building.

The tower swing amplitude equals 1,5 meters.

Glass panels are not only antireflective, but also protect from sun and heat.

There is another attraction near the tower  – Dubai dancing fountain (look up the full fountain description in another post).

Khalifa tower attractions

124th floor’s viewpoint will get you to the panoramic view from the 452-meter-hight.

On the 125th floor you are offered an interractive playground.

There are open-air areas and an installation, which immitates an eagle flying above the city. Buy a ticket

Resting zones are offered to you on the 148th floor ( free hot drinks and pastry included).  Buy a ticket

Tourists, who’ve visited Dubai and climbed the Burj Khalifa tower, can be divided in two groups:

  • The ones who totally disliked the jorney
  • The ones in awe

No indifference left. Up next – such an unusual range of emotions is discussed.

First of all – ask yourself a question: “ Are you really that passionate about visiting viewpoints?”;  maybe  it’s not even worth it after all.

The high you are about to climb can move beyond all of  hights known before; unsurprisingly, the trip’s final outcome may disappoint  you.

The third and the most important reason is queues. Even if you’ll buy a ticket to 124th and 125th floor, the access to the rest of locations still lies along waiting line.

How to entry the top of Burj Khalifa avoiding getting stuck in the queue

There are two(actually three) ways of getting there avoiding long waiting lines, which do only differentiate from one another by the cost and the possibility of positive autcome.

  1. Buying a ticket to the 124th and 125th floor and getting there early in the morning. Although the idea is not that unusual to be used only by yourself.
  2. Buying a special ticket, which includes high-priority access to 124th, 125th and 148th floors. You’ll not only get past the queue, but will get a free drink + pastry in launge-zone on the top floor and a guide service.
  3. Fly to UAE during the low season, though it’s not everybody’s choice)).

Done with lifehacks

The most overloaded time is in the afternoon and before the sunset. Thus you’d better make sure to arrive there long before the sun starts going down: the lines to security check will definitely steal a great amount of time.

By the way, there is a combined ticket to Khalifa’s tower + Dubai aquarium (access to underwater park included). No high-priority entry is offered, though if you travel with children, it’s just the ideal option for you.  Plus Dubai-aquarium is located nearby (in Dubai-moll) – that’t another confirmation of its convinience.
